Warm-Ups

Warm-ups for visiting team are 7:45 am - 8:15 am.

Concessions

The Stars Swim Team sell full concessions for breakfast and lunch.

Pre-Met Meetings

  • Scratch meeting is at 7:30 am at the computer station located on the pool deck.
  • Officials Meeting is at 7:40 am on the pool deck.
  • Timers and Scribe Meeting for all timers and scribes for both volunteer sessions is at 8:00 am on the pool deck near the Starting Blocks. IT IS IMPORTANT THAT ALL TIMERS AND SCRIBES (BOTH SHIFTS) ATTEND THIS MEETING. THE STARS SWIM TEAM USES TIME DROPS TIMING SYSTEM AND THE SYSTEM'S OPERATIONS NEEDS TO BE EXPLAINED TO FIRST TIME USERS.
  • Ready bench meeting for all ready bench volunteers for both volunteer sessions is at 8:00 am at the ready bench area.

Time Drops Live!

The Stars Swim Team uses the Time Drops Timing System. This timing system is beneficial for numerous reasons, including, the timers automatically start with the starter eliminating one point of human error and swimmers' unofficial times are available immediately after the swim on the Times Drop Live! App.

Parents can download the Times Drop Live! App for free. We will provide an access code to the visiting team, so that their parents can access swim times during the meet.

Visiting Team Volunteers

The Rolling Fork Pool is 6 lanes and we split our meets into two volunteer sessions. The first session is from Events 1 - 40 and the second session is from Events 41 - 80.

Visiting team is to provide the following volunteers for each session:

  • 12 Timers/Scribes
  • 1 Runner
  • 1 Time Verifier
  • 3 Ready Bench Volunteers

In addition to the above, Visiting team needs 1 Ribbons volunteer for entire meet.

Officials

Bring as many on-deck officials (Stroke & Turn, Starters and Referees) as possible. The Meet Referee likes to get a list of the officials, with their highest certification level, that will be attending by Wednesday of the week of the meet. This allows the Meet Referee to prepare a schedule for the on-deck officials. This schedule makes it easier to provide a balanced deck, move the officials around to various positions during the meet and provide officials with breaks.

Items Visiting Team to Bring Meet

We request the visiting team also bring the following:

  • its electronic Starter as a back-up
  • an extra laptop for back-up and to assist Computer Administrator
  • an extra printer for back-up and to assist Computer Administrator

Other Stuff

The Stars Swim Team does not have heat ribbons. Instead, we ask the Timers/Scribes to pass out "Speed Passes" to swimmers who have won their heat, achieved a personal best, showed good sportsmanship or have done something the Scribe believes warrants a Speed Pass. The Speed Pass allows the swimmer to receive one free popsicle, which can be picked up at the concession stand.

Playground are open for the swimmers/siblings to play on at their own risk.

For the 2025 Summer Swim Season, the following individuals are filling the following roles:

  • Krista Guerrero - President
  • Jeff Barckholtz - Team Representative
  • Olivier Jouffron/Meredith Fenley - Computer Administrator and Entry List Exchange
  • Aaron Guerrero - Head Official/Meet Referee
  • Katrina Piatek - Volunteer Coordinator
  • TBD - Ready Bench Coordinator
